We were forced to stop shooting when the South Island was hit with an unexpectedly heavy spring snowstorm. A beautiful, white afternoon down in Te Anau. One of the many challenges that the weather was to pose during production. This was early on, and provided a good chance to get to know our beloved hobbits a bit better.
